Armadale Psychology
Hello/Kia ora/Talofa lava
I'm Megan Swney, a registered Child and Family Psychologist based in Christchurch, New Zealand. After completing my training at UC, my professional focus has been on assisting children confronting a range of challenges including behavioural issues in both home and school settings, anxiety, depression, school refusal, learning difficulties, and sleep problems. I have extensive experience in assessing and working with children with autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, and learning difficulties. I engage closely with the children and their whanau and develop personalised plans to address their individual needs. Using an empathetic and holistic approach, my goal is to collaborate with families to enhance their overall quality of life.

Armadale isn't just a name; it's the name of my childhood farmland in a small rural North Island town.
To me, it's a location that holds values, and experiences that have shaped the person I am today.
I strongly believe with the idea that our connections and ties to the land are fundamental in shaping our identities. This is woven into my professional approach, particularly when engaging with clients through the practice of whakawhanaungatanga (connecting with and getting to know people). By focusing on people's upbringings, I am to uncover shared experiences and values that help us form an authentic connection.
